Karl’s heart squeezes in his chest, but he forces himself to stay in check despite how badly he wants to act like the setting is different. He can feel as his blush floods, burning rosy at the bones behind his cheeks, reaching everywhere from his neck to the tips of his ears. “I was in the same room as you.”
“Doesn’t matter. You weren’t next to me,” Sapnap shoots him a look, and Karl despises his heart for the way it beats for him. “Missed touching and holding you. I don’t get to do that when you’re away.”
Karl and Sapnap have been more than friends ever since they met. A weekend in San Diego blurs the lines even more.
