Ambassador Sokka is back in the Fire Nation after spending a few months at home. He misses his girlfriend, Suki, and especially his boyfriend, Zuko. A lot has happened since he has been at home. Such as an assassination attempt, new possibly romantic developments between his boyfriend and girlfriend, and a new investigation... Sokka also realizes something is up with his girlfriend.

Summary
After being together for six years, Suki and Sokka's relationship develops in new and exciting ways. The pair are taking a family vacation from work in the Fire Nation to visit Sokka's father, Sister, and grandmother. During this trip, however, Sokka learns something about his father that makes him question how he wants his relationship with Suki to be. Suki, however, is dealing with her own emotions. The warrior is still determining where she wants her life to take her. The only thing she is sure about is Sokka. Suki's life has changed significantly in the last few years, and she's barely had time to process. She feels overwhelmed by everything, from losing her mother and grandfather to moving to the Fire Nation palace full-time and the changes in her and Sokka's relationship.

Because Suki is desperate for someone she can rely on, for someone who won’t stab her in the back, and he seems like a person who won’t be able to get on the guards’ good side no matter what he does, and also—“I have friends in the Water Tribe. They wouldn’t want you to have a harder time than necessary.” He reminds her of Sokka, and she misses Sokka with an intensity that hurts.
