Summary
Bruce Wayne didn’t want to attend that public high school with its worn-out halls, loud teenagers, and curious eyes that clung to his skin like needles. But Alfred insisted. “Make friends,” he said. “Spend time with kids your age.”
As if age was the only thing they had in common.
Bruce walked into that school expecting to remain invisible. He didn’t expect to see blue eyes looking back at him with a strange mix of kindness and danger. He didn’t expect someone like Clark to talk to him more than once. He didn’t expect... to feel.
What followed wasn’t love at first sight. It was the collision of two worlds bound to fall apart—
One built of steel.
The other, of shadows. And even though he knew it would hurt, for the first time in years, Bruce Wayne didn’t run.

Summary
“John?” he says, mild — the calm before the storm — and John blinks.
“Yeah?”“What are you still doing here?”
“Wanted to make sure you were all right.”
Chas snorts, and ducks his head. “Yeah, John,” he says, only a little sarcastic. “I’m all right.”

Summary
He broke Buck’s heart.
He knows it. Knows it like he knows the weight of his own turnout gear, like he knows the precise way to steady himself when the ground gives way beneath him. It’s a fact, a simple and devastating truth that follows him everywhere, no matter how much distance he puts between them.
What happened in that bathroom, Buck pushing him against the door, kissing him like it was the only way to make sure it had been real, that wasn’t some desperate attempt to get Eddie to come back. It wasn’t even about convincing Eddie to be with him, not really. It was Buck needing to know, to feel it, to confirm that Eddie had been there, that Eddie had wanted it, that it hadn’t all been some fever dream conjured up by his hopelessly romantic, self destructive heart.
And, maybe, just a little, it was about hurting Eddie because Eddie hurt him first. Which, God, isn’t that just heartbreaking?
Or; Eddie and Buck have sex the night before he moves back to El Paso for good.
Each chapter follows a year in Eddie’s life as he makes his way back to Buck.

Summary
“It’s Eddie,” came the low correction from the window, not even turning his head.
Buck’s brows shot up. “Twice in one day? If ye’re not careful, Eddie, folk’ll start thinkin’ we’re friends.”
Eddie finally looked back, expression unreadable but his voice dry. “Not if you keep talking.”
Buck tapped a finger to his temple, then turned back to Harry. “Here’s another one for ye. What if Ashcombe didn’t just sow wild oats? What if he’s buildin’ an army? A secret army o’ bastard revolutionaries trained from birth to bring down the Empire with coded lullabies and sugarcane machetes?”
Eddie blinked slowly. “You need sleep.”
“I need vindication,” Buck said solemnly. “And a scone. Possibly both.”
Bobby rolled his eyes and muttered to himself, “I should’ve let Chimney take this case.”

Summary
“Maybe we should bring them to the firehouse,” Buck jokes. “Like mascots.”
“I, uh, I don’t know if I’m ready for that just yet,” Eddie blushes.
“Oh, yeah,” he nods, going along with the bit. “You want to like… give them time to settle in?”
“More so I don’t really want to come out to all of A Shift with a gay Build-A-Bear,” Eddie clarifies.Or, Eddie builds a very gay Build-A-Bear. Unless you ask Buck. Then it's just a very rainbow ally bear.
