“Yeah, we thought we lost you for a sec there.” This voice, a little higher, but no less deadly.

“Can’t you see you’re interrupting something?” the guy snapped at them.

She smiled and gave a casual wave, trying to be charming. A simple, friendly hello.

Summary

When Rumi and Mira are called away for boring agency paperwork, Zoey is left alone in their shared penthouse and immediately enters full gremlin mode. Lounge clothes, illegal snack combinations, guilty-pleasure American power ballads, an overzealous skincare routine, and one extremely patient stuffed turtle all play a role.
Unfortunately (or fortunately), Rumi and Mira come home early.
What they find is domestic chaos, uncontrollable laughter, and the soft realization that love doesn’t demand perfection, it shows up, kisses you through a sheet mask, and chooses you anyway.
A fluffy, comedic snapshot of healing, new relationships, and being safe enough to be ridiculous after the end of the world.

Summary
Zoey had always enjoyed putting things together.
From building Lego sets with her older brother in his room. To replacing car parts with her father on a Tuesday morning in July. To lazy evenings sat at the coffee table piecing together a jigsaw puzzle with her mom. There was a certain satisfaction Zoey found in going from a thousand splintered pieces to a finished product.
Huntrix is a fractured mess in the wake of Gwi-ma’s defeat. The tenuous relationship they’d started in the back third of the world tour was straining at the edges and threatening to buckle under the weight of their individual betrayals.
On the surface everything seemed fine - they were professionals after all. From the outside not a single hair or emotion was out of place. No faults to exploit, no fears to be shown.
But they were still cowards, still liars.
And Zoey isn’t sure if she knows how to fix the broken pieces of her heart.

Her voice dropped, trembling but vicious in its clarity.
“You’re jealous that someone actually wants me.”
Mira’s breath hitched—but Zoey kept going, unable to stop the spiral.
“You’re jealous that someone likes me—really likes me—and isn’t afraid to show it.”
Mira’s eyes went wide. Red. Shiny.
“And you’re jealous,” Zoey whispered, the words trembling out of her like she’d ripped them from somewhere fragile inside, “that I might like him back.”

“That’s not—” Mira’s voice faltered, snapping off before it could betray her. She clenched her teeth hard enough her jaw ached.
Rumi didn’t stop. She couldn’t—she was unraveling, and she dragged Mira down with her.
“Then what is it?!” Rumi’s nails curled into Mira’s arm, desperate, pleading, furious. “Why do you treat me like I’m the problem? Like I’m the only one you can’t stand to be around? Everyone else gets the part of you that laughs, that smiles, that actually lets people in—but me?” Her breath shuddered. “All I get is this.”
Her voice cracked on this, and it hit harder than any hit they’d thrown.
Mira squeezed her eyes shut, chest trembling. Stop. Please stop. I can’t do this.
But Rumi pushed—because she needed an answer, because she was breaking.
“You hate me so much? Then fine—say it!” she choked. “Say it to my face so I can finally stop wondering why the hell I keep trying with you.”

It's an innocent question. Just one of those things that parents ask their daughter's friends. She asks it while Rumi helps herself to a delectable serving of galbi jjim, piling cuts of the meat onto her plate, and Rumi almost fumbles her chopsticks and drops a piece.

Rumi, however, stops and very eloquently says: "Um."
