Summary
Jordyn Pace has just ended her relationship with the egotistical and jerk extraordinaire that is Lorne Dupree. Just thinking about her time with Lorne set her teeth on edge and Jordyn burned at how starry eyed and devoted she had been to someone so awful. Her feelings had blinded her to the fact that Lorne cared for no one but himself. A truth she finally accepted when she caught him in the act of cheating.
Jordyn is doing just fine after putting her broken heart back together and moving on. Anything is better than a relationship based on lies and Jordyn is fully focused on finishing her master's degree in history without losing anymore focus. That is until she catches sight of the tall, dark, and very metal armed stranger bent over the jukebox of The Muddy Kettle like it was an extension of him. Before she knows it she's swept up in the curve of his lips and the hunger in his eyes. He wants her. She wants him. Things are about to get interesting and Jordyn doesn't care who sees, especially if that person is Lorne.

Summary
“Wait,” she says, and the Sheriff hasn’t heard her voice this strong before. It’s melodious. It reminds him of his wife’s when she sings lullabies to their daughter; something she hasn’t felt up to for a couple of months. Damn. Why does one word from this stranger make him this nostalgic?
“There is something that you can do for me, actually. Don’t call me Ms. Valenka. Can you… can you use my first name?” She looks entirely too fragile to be asking such a simple request. He fears that if he says no she will shatter.
“Of course. Let me know if you need anything, Stiles.”
She turns her face away and he shuts the door between them.

Stiles has a plan, a good one, and it’s going well—until she’s arrested for something she doesn’t even remember doing. And of course it’s her luck that Sheriff Stilinski is there to interrogate her, being all nice and talking about his nine year-old daughter like it’s not ripping out Stiles' very heart.

“What honey?”
Derek was either stunned at the term of endearment or he deliberated really long before answering: “I...when I...well...why are people hugging me?”
What?“Lydia...she hugged me, back there, and then Scott and then the Sheriff and then even Chris looked like he was about to, but then he just thought better of it.”
I didn’t know whether to laugh or cry. Of all the things that he could be puzzling over, THIS was what nagged him the most??? And people say I was ridiculous?
“Well, the answer happens to be very simple.” I could hear the smile in Melissa’s voice. “They missed you. They are very glad you came back.” After a pause she said, “I am glad you came back.” Yes Derek, listen to the voice of calm reason for once. That is what friends do. They miss each other, they bicker and then they make up and they make each other’s life impossible and they sometimes want to rip each other’s throat...but eventually all is forgiven. That is what friends do...that is what a Pack does!
