"You helped me" her eyes tick up to his and for a second its like he is staring at a ghost of his younger self. all sharpness and anger. Then it shutters down behind her eyes. whatever small foothold he had has been cut off. her tone is light, polite and her face is completely blank.
"Mr. Kennedy." his eyebrows raise at that. "you don't owe me anything. I don't owe you. you have now checked up on me, you can now wash your hands of me. I set you free." she gets up and walks off, tosses the rest of the sandwich in a nearby bin.
He leans his head back against the bench watching her walk away. "This is not going to be easy is it" he says to himself, pinching the bridge of his nose.
