“Hey Chim,” he starts, sidling up to Chimney one morning at the fire station, “have you noticed something weird about Buck’s socks?” Eddie takes a sip of his coffee before looking over to the man next to him.
Chimney looks at him as if he’s grown another head.
“His socks?” he asks in bewilderment.
Eddie nods. “His socks.” He doesn’t elaborate further.
“Well…he wears them. Like all the time. But that’s not that weird?” Chim says, still clearly not sure what Eddie wants from him.
“You haven’t noticed…anything else?” Eddie takes another sip of coffee from his mug. He’s not going to give anything away—he wants to see if anyone else has noticed what he thinks he’s noticed, completely on their own, with no outside influence.
“...No?” Chimney replies, almost as if it’s a question. “I really don’t make a habit of looking at Buck’s feet, man.”
or; Buck has something particular going on with his socks. Instead of asking him about it, Eddie decides to do a little experiment.

Summary
For years, Eddie pushed the mere thought away because he was scared of ruining what they have, because he was sure Buck didn’t feel the same way. But over the past few months, things have changed. Maybe just his perception of things, helped along by therapy and all the work he’s done to stop repressing all of his feelings, but he started seeing things differently. He talked to Hen, who agreed, and Karen, even Linda when he felt really desperate, even though she only knows Buck in passing and from his and Maddie’s stories. Still, everyone said he was right, that they were sure his feelings weren’t one-sided. And Eddie really started to believe it, too.
The point is, over the past few weeks, while he’s been working up the courage to confess his love to Buck, he never once considered Buck wouldn’t say it back.

Summary

Mary McGarrett owns a flower shop, 'Petals' which opens opposite Danny's parlor and they become friends. Steve McGarrett, Mary's older brother and a Navy SEAL hangs out at Petals often to help his little sister get her feet on the ground with her new venture. When Steve and Danny happen to cross paths, there is an instant attraction but it takes time for the relationship to get off the ground and as they get to know one another, they both have to let go of things of the past in order to build a future together.

Grace Williams' class is learning about community service and spends an hour and half a week at Tripler with the recovering soldiers. Grace is drawn to the quiet, mysterious SEAL and soon the two have formed a bond, one that begins healing Steve's scarred heart and mind. Detective Danny Williams is haunted by a cold case that should've never gone cold in the first place. With the case only a few months old, and now one afternoon free a week while his daughter is out learning community service, Danny digs into the case again under the table with the help of another disgraced cop and will stop at nothing to see justice served. Summary
Whoever told Buck that excessively talking and narrating things to his baby would aid in her cognitive development is a bitch.
“I have to go to work today, so you’re gonna hang out with your Auntie Maddie because she has the day off, and then tomorrow morning after my shift you and I are gonna get breakfast with Eddie, so I’m packing your pink dress with the blue flowers because I think it’s very breakfasty. That’s not a word, though. Sometimes it’s okay to make up words for emphasis, but not all the time, okay?”
Evie thinks her dad is the most fascinating thing in the world and he would like to keep it that way, thank you very much. She stares and smiles at him while he talks, reacts to certain words like she’s starting to understand what they mean, claps her hands together when he says the names of her favorite people, it’s awesome.
However, Buck seems to have made one very grave mistake and in her very first act of spite against her dad, Evie will not let him live it down.
"Eddie!"
Or, narrating his entire life to his daughter started as a good idea until she decided to use her first word to out Buck’s big dumb crush on his best friend.

A story of hurt and loss and love and healing, starting with the events of season nine episode eleven:
He doesn’t ask himself if he thinks Steve contacted Catherine or the other way around because he doesn’t want to know. Not when Steve doesn’t look entirely happy to see him, not when their hug feels stiff and stilted. And not when Cath so obviously gets what Steve is doing in a way that Danny just can’t. Steve’s crossed lines before, but something about this feels very different.... And it’s hurting Danny’s already sore heart.
