Summary
Ryan Akagi and Min-gi Park have been on the road for a few months now, performing at various venues across Canada. They worked through their issues on the train, but Ryan seems to be dealing with his own problems.
This was originally going to be more angsty, but I wanted to write something that didn't tear my heart out. Maybe I'll post the alternate ending.

“I’m just so proud of you, baby.” He feels a weight lifted off his shoulders- which is ridiculous, he’s ridiculous for thinking that she would be anything but proud. Nonetheless, he feels relieved. He smiles, fiddling with his fingers again.
“It’s really nothing.” He says, “Mike keeps talking about how they’re innate but…but they’re not. They’re siphoned, from Vecna.” The mention of his name makes Joyce’s eyes go wide.
“Well, last I checked no one else can do that.” She shrugs, her eyes still wide. Will chuckles, looking at the floor, “Hey, all I’m saying is that I think you need to have a little more trust in yourself.” She leans forward, putting a hand on his cheek. He leans into it, into the warmth of her hand, “You didn’t fail, okay?” She says, and he nods, even though he doesn’t really believe it, “You saved Mike- all your friends. You did that, baby.” She shakes her head, “Not Vecna, just you.”
Will can feel himself tearing up for about the millionth time that night, “I can make it right.” He settles on, “We just need a new plan, a better plan.”
Right, a better plan. Easier said than done.

“It’s not like I don’t drink at college too, you know, I mean, just because I don’t go to frat parties, if you’re worried I’m going to judge you or something—”
“That’s not what—” Will huffed out a laugh, staring up at the ceiling. He turned around. “I go to gay bars, okay? It’s—just, not your scene. Obviously.”
Will’s face twisted on that last word, half a grimace. For some reason, it was a punch to the gut. Something defiant rose up within Mike.
“Well, do you have to be a card-carrying member to get in, or something?” he asked, eyebrows raised. “I mean, a bar’s a bar, right?”
Will’s face broke into an uncertain smile. “Mike…”
“I came here for the Will Byers New York experience,” Mike said, earnestly. “Am I going to get it, or what?”
Mike visits Will in New York and realizes a few things.

Summary
It’s when he registers how manly Mike looks now, his mouth falling agape in silent awe before his mind reacts, that it hits him. This is no longer puppy love—Mike is a man, and he hates himself for feeling what he does. It shakes him; the way Mike really grew into his face.
He remembers how his high cheekbones used to dominate his features, seemingly squeezed onto a child, but now look regal, masculine. Mike used to always complain his nose is too long—that’s nothing new; but Will’s raw urge to trace a finger down its bridge is. The kind of urge that makes his skin feel too tight; his gums itch; his eyes dilate.
It’s been so many months closed off in one house. Will might as well be going insane.

Summary
Ryan and Min got off the train, but spending several months away from home while dealing with a very traumatic experience on an interdimensional judgment train. Recovery is not instantaneous and one good band session does not mean that everything is solved. It's going to take more work, more talking, and being honest. However, it's very hard to have an absolutely honest conversation in the 1980s, especially with everything that both boys are withholding.

this fic is the result of the realization that i can write whatever i want. its gonna get very cute and very gay, just you wait!!! just you wait!!!!!!
