Summary
Three months after the upir, Boston is sweltering. Magic is rising. Witches are disappearing.
Shane Hollander's biggest concern should be surviving the heat. Instead, a routine job turns into anything but: a missing persons case involving a vanished coven, fake runes, real blood magic, Japanese mythology, and a hole in the ground that absolutely should not exist.
He's seen enough bad ideas to recognize one when he finds it. Unfortunately, stopping someone else's terrible decisions means following a trail of blood, crows, and paper lanterns into the unknown.
Sometimes the only way out is through.
It's going to be one of those weeks.

Summary
“Can’t hang out tonight, Hayd. I have plans.”
“Bullshit,” Hayden responds. “You never have plans.”
Objectively, this used to be true. Nowadays Shane has many, many plans, between his nightly plans to look at Ilya’s penis through Skype and his various long-term plans laid out helpfully in his notebook, Canva (For Ilya’s sake. He is a visual learner), and more recently, Excel. Shane loves that excel sheet. He’s colour coded it.
In 2017, Shane Hollander spirals and proposes to his boyfriend of 4 days (or 7 years, or 9 years, or not his boyfriend at all, depending on how you look at it), which leads to a lot of plans, weird theories in the Montreal Voyageur locker room, some Twitter drama, and Ilya Rozanov entering his WAG era.

Summary
Shane wants to figure out if he's gay before he gets drafted—and no, the way he felt when Ilya Rozanov smirked at him with a cigarette between his lips in Saskatchewan has nothing to do with it. Unfortunately, the random guy he hooks up with to try and make sure one way or another takes a picture, and Shane gets outed before the draft. In the ensuing scandal, he goes seventh overall, to Ottawa.
It turns out, having the worst thing you can think of happen to you when you're seventeen years old can end up being pretty liberating. And land you an unexpected best friend.
