That doesn’t stop him from grabbing Ivan’s hand—rough, hard, his own grip clasping far too tight. He bares his teeth in an expression that might pass for a smile in the darkness. “That’s why you need me,” Childe says.
Childe's father is dying, and the only thing that will help him is a rare medicine made from a flower found in one place in Morepesok: a monster's garden. When Childe and his brother attempt to retrieve that flower, Childe is injured by the monster, forcing him to take shelter in the monster's home. But as he fights to survive, he realizes there is more to the creature than first meets the eye, and he begins to investigate the gentle human being beneath a visage that resembles nothing so much as his own Foul Legacy.

in retort, lumine agrees, but only if the same punishment can apply to childe. confident in his fighting prowess, he accepts. take a guess who wins.

Not only that... but Childe is willing to do unspeakable things in order to get the powers he needs to become the strongest warrior in Teyvat.
