    Summary

Perfection is what that promises that you get to live another day. Being born in Port Ormos only brought pressure and mistreatment from the Akademiya. As Haravatat's president, you're seen as an example of what an ideal scholar should be : serene, humble and morally just. Underneath all of their expectations, you are starting to lose yourself to everything that life throws at you. If you stop performing, they'll aim for your throat. And if you continue, it slowly kills you inside.

Zandik. A scholar whom you hate for his chaos, arrogance, and lack of morals. He's everything you have learnt and come to despise. Opposites by nature and enemies by choice.

But does all of that truly mean anything if you are the only people who understand eachother? Where is the line drawn between hate and obsession?

    Summary

You knew Zandik, in passing at least.

A bit younger than most scholars permitted within the halls of the Akademiya, he was a figure that drew attention without effort. Some admired his brilliance with thinly veiled awe, others looked upon him with quiet disdain, bitter that someone of his age could stand shoulder to shoulder with seasoned researchers. A few were plainly jealous.

    You belonged to neither group.

What interested you was not his intellect, nor the countless whispers that followed him through the corridors like drifting incense smoke.

    It was his eyes.

There was something unsettling about them... they were not cruel, not cold, but eerily absent as though some essential fragment of humanity had been hollowed out long before he ever stepped foot into the Akademiya.

    Summary

A shiver runs down his soaked spine. He is utterly and incomprehensibly alone.

A faint jingle breaks the rhythm of the rain, and Phainon’s ears perk up. The bell above the shop door trembles with motion, and his wet body stiffen as he tilts his head. Through the blur of falling water, he sees you, leaving the bakery with a paper bag clutched to your chest. The smell hits him first: warm, yeasty bread, delicate cake frosting, something sweet and irresistible that makes his nose quiver. His stomach growls involuntarily, a reminder that this strange body has needs entirely different from the one he remembers.

"You come to Piltover's most revolutionary lab and call our designs rudimentary?"

"Yes. You seek to improve an ill fate. I seek to change it altogether."

Alternatively: A Piltover doctor has their mind set on revolutionizing medicine, by combining it with the newly tamed force of the arcane. What better place for developing Hextech prosthetics is there, if not the Talis lab? And what better person to develop feelings for, if not the likeminded scientist in it?
