Summary
The eight year old Xiao is not happy with his parents’ plans to haul him off to the faraway, rural Mondstadter town of Starfell every summer until he’s dead. There’s nothing to do, and their summer cottage is too far from anything even remotely interesting enough to make it worth the trip! He’s already preparing himself for the worst summer he has ever had—and many more to come.
But then, he meets Aether, the boy next door. “Next door”, of course, entailing that he lives about a kilometer away. They quickly become best friends, inseparable if it weren’t for the force of a thousand more kilometers between them every other season.
When their lives are turned upside down within the treacherous waters of growing up, they come to find they will need each other more than ever, fearing the worst with every wave. Amidst the tumult of navigating confusion, emotions, stress, and changes that neither of them were ready for, something else is born—something that could either drive a wedge between them forever, or bring them closer together than ever before.

Summary
After continuously making the idiotic decision to stroll down the dark, eery streets of New York, They've finally met their very deserved fate by being manhandled into the back of white van and taken away by men in black posers. The robot aliens and giant talking lizards was a bit overkill.
Alien brains, talking turtles, AND a lifetime of friendship with a pile of goo! Can the reader really have it all?
They're also really hungry.
