Summary
Jim wrote a romance novel just to prove he could. Then someone leaked it on the public Starfleet server, and suddenly his embarrassingly smutty and sentimental Human/Vulcan love story is all over campus. Luckily for Jim, no one knows that he’s the author. Unluckily for Jim, someone forwarded the novel to the staff of the Vulcan embassy. Now, every Vulcan in San Francisco is reassessing the logical merits of taking Human bondmates.
Spock reads a Human/Vulcan romance novel because he can hardly avoid it. Suddenly, he is consumed by the need to locate the author, ascertain their wellbeing, and instruct them in the way of Vulcan mating bonds. Luckily for Spock, it doesn't take long to identify the author as Jim Kirk. Unluckily for Spock, Jim is unconscious and surrounded by interested Vulcans who also read the book.

James Tiberius Kirk is seen as a playboy and a lazy lucky son-of-a-bitch but how well does anyone know him when they don't even know about his twin, fraternal twin. The Enterprise crew soon sees just how much their captain has been hiding and sees him a bit differently.(Author's Note: I want to forewarn people that this may focus a good amount on James' twin in the beginning chapters. So I recommend to read after Chapter 24 if you truly only want a fanfiction that focuses more on James Kirk.)

Oh god, oh god. He's time traveled - Time traveled!- and before the thought that he's not in Kansas anymore can finish, the pleasant laughing man on the ground below spontaneously turned in his seat, hooking his arm over the back of it, and looked right at him.
Which is insane. And what was even more insane was that he had a huge grin on his face as though Peter were the best thing he'd ever seen in his life.
"Hello there friend, care to come down? We won't bite, I promise you" As soon as the words leave his mouth, the gathering below all look up too with expressions varying from confused to shocked, and the red haired guy gives off an alarmingly loud yelp that he cuts off with his hands: Peter gives it to him that it probably is a little scary suddenly seeing a kid stuck to the ceiling.
-In which Peter finds himself launched back to 1962, and unbeknownst to him an entirely different reality after being hit by Thanos during the battle, and ends up enrolled on a mission to prevent World War III. All while trying to work out how to get back home.

A Sentinel is pretty much a useless, oversensitive mess without their Guide. In fact, unbonded Sentinels are barred from command entirely. They're too much of a liability without a Guide to ground them. If Jim wants to be a captain someday, he has to find his Guide first and place a bond in their head.
Disclaimer: I know just enough about the Sentinel to think I can maybe write an au from it, so please forgive/correct any mistakes I make.
