Summary
“Well I hope we do more than sleep. But I think it should get first priority, at least.” Buck replied with a wink, and what did *that* mean? All Eddie could do was gape in response, his brain stuck as it refused to catch up, to understand what the hell was happening. And it wasn’t helped when - defying any conventions that they’d previously established in their friendship - Buck turned around and pulled back the covers, climbing into Eddie’s bed as though it was his own. As though this was something totally normal that they did all the time.
OR
The one where Eddie transfers Fire Houses after moving to El Paso, and ends up in a coma after a rescue went bad. But unlike Buck's coma dream experience, Eddie doesn't feel like he has anything to wake up for - and everything to stay asleep for. But that doesn't mean Buck is going to stop fighting for him.

Summary
He broke Buck’s heart.
He knows it. Knows it like he knows the weight of his own turnout gear, like he knows the precise way to steady himself when the ground gives way beneath him. It’s a fact, a simple and devastating truth that follows him everywhere, no matter how much distance he puts between them.
What happened in that bathroom, Buck pushing him against the door, kissing him like it was the only way to make sure it had been real, that wasn’t some desperate attempt to get Eddie to come back. It wasn’t even about convincing Eddie to be with him, not really. It was Buck needing to know, to feel it, to confirm that Eddie had been there, that Eddie had wanted it, that it hadn’t all been some fever dream conjured up by his hopelessly romantic, self destructive heart.
And, maybe, just a little, it was about hurting Eddie because Eddie hurt him first. Which, God, isn’t that just heartbreaking?
Or; Eddie and Buck have sex the night before he moves back to El Paso for good.
Each chapter follows a year in Eddie’s life as he makes his way back to Buck.

Summary
When Buck walked into the 118 that morning, he could smell that someone knew was in the house. A heart beat that didn't belong. As soon as he came face to face with Werewolf Eddie Diaz, something tugged at him, letting him know that this person would become important. Things get complicated with the arrival of his sister Maddie, and her view that him being a vampire is shameful and disgusting. Buck's not going to put up with that type of bigotry, he had enough of that from one member of the 118 as it was. Buck was done playing nice.

Summary
Eddie Diaz thought he could leave his past behind, building a new life for his son Christopher and shielding him from the darkness that once defined him. But when he steps into the 118 firehouse, his carefully constructed walls begin to crack. Among the chaos and camaraderie of his new team, one person stands out—Evan “Buck” Buckley, a man whose magnetic warmth and reckless charm threaten to unravel everything Eddie has kept buried.
As Eddie navigates the firehouse’s relentless demands, he finds himself drawn to Buck in ways he can’t explain—and doesn’t entirely trust. But it’s not just Eddie’s life Buck begins to change. Christopher, with his wide-eyed innocence, sees Buck as more than a friend, pulling him into their world in a way that feels inevitable. Yet beneath Eddie’s quiet smiles and gentle fatherhood lies a darker truth: Eddie doesn’t just want Buck in their lives—he needs him. And he’s willing to do whatever it takes to make sure Buck stays.
Will Buck see the shadows behind Eddie’s steady gaze before it’s too late? Or will their connection ignite a fire that neither of them can control? Out of the Ashes is a story of love, obsession, and the lengths we go to claim what we believe is ours.
