Summary
The familiar sight of him as he clutched the strap of his satchel warmed something inside Geralt, something that had gone cold over the last few months. A grin spread across his lips as Regis descended into the courtyard.
Regis has left to find and help Dettlaff after the Night of Long Fangs, and Geralt has gone into semi-retirement at Corvo Bianco. But despite the new peace, the Witcher finds something is missing. Only when Regis unexpectedly returns one day does Geralt realise there is much they have yet to discover about each other and what connects them. After all, a love story does not end when those famous three words are said – it only just begins.

Much has happened since Geralt and Roche parted from one another at an inn outside Loc Muinne. Nilfgaard has invaded the North a third time, and much like the second, Geralt finds himself searching for Ciri once more.
While she occupies his thoughts greatly, there is another who haunts his mind – a man he remembers with a sense of longing and uncertainty. Roche stared at the fireplace. Soot was caked inside it, condensed down with humidity over the months.
His men had stoked the fire that had created this soot. It remembered their poking and prodding. Their laughter and discussions. But it was cold and lifeless now, just like them.Vernon Roche had led the Blue Stripes for four years. Four long, all too short years. At the beginning of it all, he had recruited all of them and trained them, pulled them from the worst life had to give, and put a roof over their heads. He'd loved them dearly, and they had respected him in turn, treated him not merely as their commander, but as one of them. As a friend. Summary
He reached out when Roche stepped over the edge of the tub. The water splashed softly as he submerged himself, going down easy and fitting into Geralt’s embrace. There was little room to spare, admittedly, and Geralt’s legs knocked against the wood as Roche turned, leaning his back against Geralt’s chest.
It's late at night, and while Geralt is soaking in the bath, an (un)expected visitor opens the door. Geralt convinces him to stay, and the two spend some relaxing time together.

Regis watched him with an expression that was almost apologetic. "You can wait for Geralt, if you like."
Eskel wasn't sure where else he could wait. The barn maybe. But he had come this far. He hesitated in the doorway, sweeping his gaze along the interior of the cottage. It was small and open, so he could see every area of the home. Quilts were piled over stuffed chairs. A copper kettle sat on a well-used stove.
Just as his hesitance began to border on rudeness, Eskel noticed something.
Geralt’s boots sat neatly under the bed, next to a pair of slippers.
