So Tommy does the only thing he can do. He laughs. He doesn’t precisely mean to. It kind of just happens. The laughter bursts out of his chest, all bubbles and nerves but not at all airy like it should be “Of fucking course this is the first conversation I have in years-” it’s absurd. It really is. Of course. Of fucking course. Which, technically, Tommy still is an employee since he was never actually fired. He just sort of, y’know, died.
