“And what kind of sins have you committed that God would punish you thus?” It was the right kind of question to ask, and if it had come from Father Olórin she wouldn’t have thought twice about it.
But Father Olórin had never looked at her like that. Hungry, as if he might devour her sins instead of absolve her of them.
