After Harry does not respond to any of the letters that have been sent they send in Severus Snape to pick up the child and bring him back to school. After being sorted into Slytherin Snape tries to care for Harry and help him but Harry continues to be terrified of the man. He can’t seem to figure out why.

He heard Vernon’s lumbering steps entering the hall, accompanied by the sharp click of Petunia’s heels, but he raced to reach the door first. A wide grin stretched his cheeks to their limits as he threw open the door.
