(Well, this is a lie. Kid knows exactly how they ended up in this situation.
A lucky swing of a metal pipe and the resounding clank as it connected with the cowl of the Bat.
The wide eyes of the goon who had landed the hit meeting theirs from across the warehouse.
Batman falling to the ground, the gasp of Riddler and the echo of oh shit throughout every mind so strong Kid would've thought themself a telepath.
Then Robin crashed in, knocking Kid's fellow goon to the floor, Red Robin rushing to help Batman up, and the continuation of the fight.)
And now here Kid was, squished in the backseat of the Batmobile, arm against the door and eyes out the window. Red Robin has a grin on his face, and Robin is glaring at them so hard they worry he may gain laser vision and kill them right here and right now.

Summary
There's a new vigilante in New York City.
They're around Peter's age, seventeen, maybe eighteen. With white hair and neon green eyes.
What gets his attention most of all, though, is the same thing that has gotten everyone's attention.
On Phantom's back are brilliant white peacock wings. The back striped with royal purple, the underside speckled with dots like stars and eyespots that seem to move and blink in the same purple.
The final feather of each of his wings blends into fire. Burning bright and lighting up everywhere he goes.
A Phoenix.
Phoenixes don't exist, is the thing.
They can't.
Someone can only become a Phoenix if they're a canary that survives what was supposed to kill them.
Which isn't possible.
And yet.

Apparently happy with the choice, he pulled the bowl out and scrapped the covering, next going for a large serving spoon from one of the doors so he could shovel it into his mouth like a starved dog. "Fuckin' chopsticks was what we had to keep an eye on." He added in between mouthfuls, giving Dick a smirk and a knowing glance, as if they were both in on it and Dick knew anything about what he meant. "Anyway, I'm out. See you next family reunion, or tragedy or whatever."
And then he was gone, as was one of Alfred's favourite serving spoons and bowl, and the potato salad Dick knew for a fact Bruce had been saving to eat for lunch the next day. Jason probably knew that part, to be fair.
"...Chopsticks?" He muttered to himself, baffled, in the now empty kitchen.
Or,
Damian has some concerning habits. Jason's the only one that seems used to it. The rest of the bats scramble.
