Summary
This fic takes place during the events of Feet of Clay. The book left me with a lot of questions and I was particularly curious about Drumknott’s perspective.
We all know Commander Vimes is more than capable of dealing with the Assassins’ Guild and that he feels the most alive when someone is trying to kill him. But after I played with a handful of ideas for this fic and struggled and almost abandoned it, I wondered if Drumknott might see things a little differently…

Legolas was certain about the destination. Gimli was certain about what he could endure. They were both wrong.

The battles are won and Aragorn has not slept properly in weeks. The remaining Fellowship decides to fix it. What follows is a game of few rules, several failures, moths, dinner for two, a mild-mannered coup and the winner wasn't even trying.
This is a silly little story about love, care, and the ways we can fail to completely express either.
