“Does that mean you’d fuck Chan?” Changbin’s amused voice cuts through the room, shaking Chan out of his thoughts. He looks up at Jisung, only to find the younger already staring at him. He hadn’t realised the implication until Changbin spelled it out for them.
He feels his cheeks heat up. He figured some awkward situation would come with playing the game. That’s why he was opposed to it at the start. But never did he expect something like this.
It was unbelievable enough that Hyunjin mentioned his name, but… Why on earth would Jisung choose to fuck him over the others?

'“Hyung, what happened to you?” A voice calls, just barely reaching Chan’s ears. The words are muffled, nearly inaudible, as he slowly shakes himself from whatever trance he found himself trapped in.
He turns his head to the side to find Jisung staring at him, eyebrows furrowed in concern. He’s bent down awkwardly to reach Chan’s level, hand cautiously hovering over Chan’s shoulder. Chan has no idea how or when the alpha arrived, but his presence, his scent, is enough to make tears prickle in the corners of Chan’s eyes. Out of everyone, it just had to be Jisung.'

Chan refuses to admit that he's in heat and keeps working until he ends up collapsing in the studio. Jisung and Changbin find him curled up on the floor and decide to remind him how good it feels to let someone take care of him.

“Hi, I’m so sorry about intruding like this- I wouldn’t be doing this if it wasn’t my last resort, I swear,” Chan says hurriedly, and the words pour like honey from his lips. Minho shivers. His tone is husky, close to breathy, but not as low as he would’ve thought.
He’s stretching his hand out, presumably for Minho to grab. It’s a polite gesture, if not an overly formal one, but Minho finds himself unable to return it. He just stares. Stares at Chan’s pink, soft-looking hands, at the slightly chipped black nail polish on his fingernails, and at the silver bracelet hanging off his slim wrist.
It’s only when Changbin loudly clears his throat that Minho manages to pull himself out of his thoughts and drag his eyes back up to Chan’s face.

From the moment Minho first lays his eyes on Chan, there’s something about the other that captivates him. He just doesn’t expect his crush to spiral into an all-consuming obsession that threatens to take over, not only his life, but Chan’s as well.

Summary
“What do you think? Am I just wasting my time sitting here?” The words spill from Chan’s mouth before he’s able to think them through.
The waiter seems slightly taken aback by the question. And if he’s being honest, Chan doesn’t know why he asked it in the first place. Whatever he responds with, it’ll probably just make him feel worse. He thinks about backtracking, but before he’s able to, a smug smile settles over the waiter’s face.
“I think you’re too pretty to be waiting for a guy who’s clearly not coming,” he says casually, the smile not leaving his face for a second, even when Chan chokes on his spit. If anything, it seems to widen as Chan frantically coughs, turning away from the other to save himself from further embarrassment. “I- What?”

Chan's date doesn't show up, leaving him to wallow in self-pity, until Hyunjin shows up to sweep him off his feet. They go on an impromptu date, and Chan learns a lot about himself.

'Maybe his newly acquired head wound actually killed him, because he’s pretty sure an angel is standing in front of him. He’s just slightly taller than Changbin, a couple of centimeters at the most. Curly brown hair hangs in front of his worried eyes, plump lips open in shock.
Somewhere in the back of his mind, he realises that this has to be Chan, but he can’t find any words at the moment. The light from the hallway illuminates him as he leans down a bit to look at Changbin.
“Are you okay?” Chan questions. His voice is breathy, almost shaky, but it’s so soft and full of worry, all directed at Changbin. It makes him feel like the center of the universe.'

Chan finds the love of his life by almost becoming homeless, and Changbin finds the love of his life by inviting a stranger to live with him. It just takes a while for them to realise it.

It had never mattered what Chan did, how much effort he put in for them; he could do whatever they told him to, and they'd still look at him like he was trash. And wasn't he? He had always tried so hard to make people happy, but he could never seem to please his alphas. How pathetic was that?
