Hiei watches him for a moment, studying the slow, methodical way Kurama works at the orange. “You pick at it like it’s going to bite you,” he says dryly, sounding thoroughly unimpressed. Kurama doesn’t have to look up to know what expression is on his face. “The big oaf might actually form his first thought before you finish peeling that orange.”
Kurama makes a face at the fruit in his hands. “I don’t enjoy getting the peel under my fingernails,” he says lightly.
