Summary
Trinity barely has time to catch up to the sensations she’s feeling when an arm loops around her lower back and keeps her from hitting the ground. Before she can panic, Ellis’ low voice rumbles in her ear, smooth and concerned.
“Hey, hey, alright. I got you.”
“How… where did you come-.”
“Finishing with a patient in South twenty-two. Thought I spotted a resident in crisis. Talk to me. What’s going on?”
Now that someone is holding her up, the floatiness of her body feels like it’s been ramped up to a million.

Summary
“You didn’t do anything wrong,” Jack Abbot murmurs, pressing his lips to her forehead, before disappearing back down to the parking lot of her apartment complex. “I’ll be back in an hour. I’ll buzz three times when I’m back—I’m gonna leave my cell at home. Three times, alright? Three times, and only three times.”
Samira nods.
“Three times.”

Summary
Jack had always liked skirts, ever since he had been a boy. But it had always been forbidden, taboo, something he knew to keep hidden. So he vowed to never tell another soul… Until Robby found out.
The cotton grazed his legs, sending shivers down his spine. He secured the skirt around his waist by tying a simple knot. Only then did he emerge from the closet, closing the door behind him.
He took a step back and gazed at his reflection in the mirror. He couldn’t bring himself to see something shameful.
He saw a man, there was no doubt about that. And he liked it. He liked seeing his resolutely masculine frame, his broad chest showing underneath his sleeveless black t-shirt with his strong biceps bulging out, the stubble on his cheeks, his short hair… and then the skirt, gracefully draping over his powerful legs, down to his ankles, stopping just shy of them.
Even in his skirt he still saw himself as unwaveringly masculine. He felt fierce and soft all at once. It was miles away from some of the other reflections he had adopted over the years: in med school, on battlefields, in combat hospitals, in busy ERs… And yet, it rang true.
