He stares at her like she’s grown a second head when she mentions it. They’re one the shore of the lake - rather, he’s on the shore of the lake, and she’s kneedeep in the water. He’s under the distinct impression that this is some kind of mind-game, and so he watches her with narrow eyes and a certain amount of discomfort in her offer. When she realizes he’s not immediately going to take it, she says, “I suppose I can’t make you,” and shrugs, calmly.
“It’s dirty water,” He points out, and wrinkles his nose, “I’m not sure how clean you can get with it.”
