Izuku inherited his parents’ quirks, but he swore he’d never use his fire.
He knows first hand how—bright, burning, scorching, painful, terrifying, destructive—it is, after all, and Izuku promised (promised his crying mother, promised his burning self, promised the laughing memory of his father) that he’d become a hero who stops that kind of despair.
Even if he has to burn his own wings to do so.

Absolutely fantastic, but I, pretty sure Icarus didn’t die because his father was a jerk, he died because he was an idiot and flew into the sun with wings made of wax. So. They melted, as wax does, and he fell and died. Also Daedalus was super sad that his son died. Also, if I remember correctly, didn’t he become a builder for the gods? Like I’m pretty sure he’s almost as well known as his son, unless I got names mixed up.

“How’d you die?” Tommy asked, settling down next to the corpse. He kept his legs tucked under him, poised to stand and run if he had to. “‘S a knife, right? Were you scavenging, big man? Rooting around in the junk like a fucking raccoon? I can respect that, you know, I respect raccoons. In my heart of hearts, I kin them.”
He could bring this one back completely, if he tried. If it had been any other day, any other mission, he would have: the corpse didn’t have the uniform of a hunter, or the telltale signs of an enforcer from the lower levels. He might not deserve to stay dead.
But Tommy needed the energy crackling in his ganglia. He was gonna attempt a raising more epic and difficult than any before, of a death so long ago that his name had been blotted from all records. He couldn’t spare some of that battery for a stranger.

Summary
Wild sported rather extensive scarring, and most viewers would rightly question how he’d survived such an injury. However, it’s a little awkward to explain your scars come from that one time you died. But it wasn’t like that was Wild’s only near (full) death experience.
Wild was, well… wild. He got into quite a lot of hazardous situations, and it would not be a surprise to people if he poked things many others would agree should not be poked.

Or, Wild decides to take a more creative approach when people ask where he got his scars.
