"And now what ? Are you going to let me leave ?” Vergil asked, his tone icy.
“What? You can’t leave !” Dante exclaimed in shock.
“I can and I will. So? What are you going to do? Take my choice away again ? Then what ? Hold me prisoner in that shop of yours ? Should I call you “Master”, like Mundus ? Will you chain me to another wall, so that I can’t run away as well? ” Vergil scoffed, poison dripping from his words.
“You know what? Yeah, maybe I will. At least I’ll be sure that you won’t be going on another rampage.” Dante openly mocked him. “ You got any other kid to mangle?”
“Then let’s settle this once and for all.” The blue twin hissed.
“Fine. One last duel, but I have a condition.” Dante smirked. “If you win, I won’t interfere with your life ever again. Whatever you do, you’ll have my blessing.”
“And if I lose ?” The blue twin asked, his razor sharp focus on Dante.
“I’ll take the Yamato and you’ll become my slave. I’ll be free to do whatever I wish to you, and you won’t ever be free again.” The hunter hoped that the fear of captivity would be enough to snap him out of his rage.
“Fine.” Vergil whispered and Dante felt his blood turn cold. Shit.

Summary
""You've thought of all this.”
His eyes search for House’s. Of course he has thought of it. He hasn’t quite reached a conclusion yet, but he sees that Wilson is happy with Amber and that this time, it is different than with all his ex-wives. He knows Wilson finally has a true chance to get his dream of a perfect white picket fence family, and as much as he is a dick, he also knows that trying to stop this will most likely end with House losing him as a friend completely.
He doesn’t need to look at Wilson to know that he understood what House was trying to say. He knows Wilson can see through this facade and recognise the sacrifices he is making."
Or: What if things had gone a little differently in House's Head/Wilson's Heart?

Summary
'"I'm not screwing you, House," Cuddy said, just so she wouldn't apologize and promise him everything was going to be okay. This was still House. This was still her employee, her nuisance, her friend. As much as they both snapped and bit and tore at one another, she counted herself securely in House's very small, very exclusive circle of friends. Neither of them would ever admit it aloud; she wasn't even sure if House had considered her a friend, but she thinks they are, so now, he doesn't really have a choice.'
---
Or where during the events of Wilson's Heart, House's seizure deals more damage than expected. His memory is gone— he has lost the experiences that made him who he is, and now he must contend with the loss while relearning what it means to be himself.

Bookmarker's Notes
House was a cockroach, and Wilson would come back. House would have known that. Wilson always came back.
