That strange yet familiar tugging sensation was back. Marinette didn’t quite understand what it was, but she could tell it was stronger now more than ever as one of the last two eggs started to rock back and forth, cracks starting to splinter its formerly pristine shell. She didn’t register her feet carrying her forward, anymore than she registered Alya’s confused voice calling her name over and over again. In fact, the whole cavernous room seemed to fall away, the excitement of the crowd around her fading to a dull roar, until all she could see, all she could focus on, was the two eggs now rocking and cracking among the burning embers of their mother’s dragonfire. Her hand lifted of its own accord, reaching out to brush the surface of the egg almost reverently. Distantly she was aware of shouts of alarm and anger, of rough hands grasping at her arms and trying to haul her away but Marinette fought against them. Fought to stay with the egg. It needed her. Why couldn’t they see that it needed her!?

Summary
Luka Couffaine made for a perfect snake holder, wise and never tempted to use the snake miraculous for his own personal gain. Being as reliable as he was, it was only natural for Ladybug to call upon him whenever applicable, making battles all the less stressful with someone there to have her back in a way that no one else could manage.
However, as he wears it more and more, Luka starts to realize that there's more to the snake - to the universe itself - than he could've imagined, and he has to fight with both his beliefs and a red string in order to protect an unknowing Marinette from destiny's cruel designs.
Because fate, as he learns, can be suffocating.

Luka is being forced to marry someone after fucking up his RockStar image with a little too much partying and a DUI under his belt. Penny and Jagged set up a Win a Date Contest where after 6 months, Luka has to propose and then marry them.
After one too many drinks, Marinette enters...and wins.
And then a whole lot of smutty goodness because these dorks need to be together.
First chapter will have an explicit scene but most won't. There will be a warning in the chapter notes for those who want to skip those parts and just have the fluff/angst.
