One night, all of a sudden, Lumine disappears without a trace. Striken by grief Aether goes on the search for her and gets entangled in a web of conspiracies, politics and power struggles within the city. His only ally seems to be a young man named Xiao, who like him, is searching for someone. But they do not realize how deeply connected they already are, without knowing.
So basically lumine vanishes and Aether wants to find her, what's new.
WARNINGS: implied kidnapping, missing person, depression, mentions of suicide, mentions of druguse, violence, and other "minor" triggers. Each will be mentioned in the notes before a chapter and at the top of the chapter for your disgression.

He looked to Ganyu, who was carefully observing in the doorway. His breath was quick and heavy, his throat was dry, and his hands were shaking. Xiao was sure he looked like a caged animal with how he had snapped to attention. He needed to find them, and quick, but a self induced panic attack wasn’t going to get him anywhere.
“Where’s Paimon?” he snarled.
“With Lady Ningguang. I can take you to—”
In a burst of teal blue and black smoke, Xiao was gone from the middle of the room.

“Venti… It’s…” Xiao picked up his phone. “Ten o’clock. Let me smoke first.”
And then Venti was on his bed, which was something he never did because he knew Xiao hated people touching his sheets, and Xiao scowled. “It can’t wait. I don’t want to wait until later to upset you.”
“You’re going to upset me?” Xiao rolled his eyes. “That’s not possible.”
“No, it really is. You’re not gonna like this at all.” Venti crawled up next to him on the bed and got onto his knees. “Listen…”
“Out with it, please.” Xiao picked up the joint from the ashtray and held it to his mouth.
“You’re getting a roommate on Monday.”
And Xiao dropped the joint. “Pardon?”
“I’m really sorry.” Venti fidgeted where he sat, and when Xiao shot forward, Venti flung himself off the bed. “Listen…”
