Today though he was assigned to stop some ghosts that were stealing from the vendors in ghost city. They had apparently been doing so for a while but no one had come to him or Hua Chengzhu to report it since ghosts would typically take care of these issues amongst themselves. This group though seemed to be more crafty than others and would get away before the store owners had time to react. Which is why he was here in the section of ghost city they frequented the most.

Summary
Mu Qing caught Hua Cheng's eye and realised that the Ghost King shared his amusement about the situation. A small part of his soul settled at the normality of this moment — no battles, no hate, no death, just... three gods and a ghost who all peacefully settled themselves into a courtship that shocked the heavens.

Mu Qing felt the smile that had unconsciously made its way onto his lips slide right off again.

Or, after a mission with his two junior officials, Yong Baige and Nie Zhiyuan, Mu Qing feels like something isn't right. He can't stop remembering the desolate look in the eyes of the ghost they had defeated when it had sworn its revenge. Then everything around him starts to fall apart. Desperately, he attempts to fix everything before it's too late — if only this annoying headache would leave him alone!

Mu Qing glared at the two deputies before him—Nan Feng and Pei Xiu. Like their generals, cuts and bruises marred their otherwise attractive faces. They eyed each other with hostility, ready to pounce on one another at any moment.
“Why is this happening to me?” Mu Qing sighed, turning away from them to walk over to the window. He heaved another sigh at the destruction before him. Deputies from both palaces scurried about, cleaning up their generals’ mess in the heavenly avenue of divine might. Many lower-ranking gods even pitched in, gossiping about the strange animosity between good friends Pei Ming and Feng Xin.
He glanced back at the deputies in his quarters. They were arguing again, though this time more quietly. It was a sight unfamiliar to him. For hundreds of years, the palaces of Nan Yang and Ming Guang had never been at odds. In fact, the deputies had been very close to each other, appearing as close friends, just like Generals Nan Yang and Ming Guang.
However, that was then. This is now. To answer everyone’s question: It’s because of Mu Qing.
Basically, Pei Ming and Feng Xin are fighting to claim Mu Qing as their mate.

Extract: Mu Qing fell until the last, culminating realisation knocked the breath out of him at the sight of Pei Ming hovering above Feng Xin. Hidden by the shadows, he couldn't help but be spellbound by the way their eyes never left each other, the way their lips slightly trembled with want.
