Feng Xin was holding Mu Qing tightly while Rouye was tightly bound around his other hand. They were dangerously low, lava wasn’t even a foot below them. He was breathing heavily, he had half a mind to yell at the other man but chose not to. He had to find a way to fight off the spirits that were closing in on them from below. Just as he was about to speak Mu Qing cut him off, “It’s ok, you can let go now.”

Summary
Today though he was assigned to stop some ghosts that were stealing from the vendors in ghost city. They had apparently been doing so for a while but no one had come to him or Hua Chengzhu to report it since ghosts would typically take care of these issues amongst themselves. This group though seemed to be more crafty than others and would get away before the store owners had time to react. Which is why he was here in the section of ghost city they frequented the most.

It didn’t go away. More people began to take notice of his coughing fits and he struggled further to hide it from Hua Cheng. He didn’t need any help; it would go away on its own. That was until during one of his worst coughing fits things changed. He was on his way back to the gamblers den in order to report about a settled dispute when he started to cough again. He slipped into an alley and let himself sit against the wall to try and catch his breath. He realized with a start he was choking on something that seemed to be lodged deep in his throat.

Hua Cheng very carefully moved Xie Lian’s upper body tilting his head a bit and having his shoulders twist. Xie Lian’s eyes followed him the whole time. Hua Cheng was moving Xie Lian’s arm when the other grabbed onto him and pulled him down connecting their lips. Hua Cheng remained stunned for a few seconds before he started to kiss back.

Summary
Most in the Heaven’s were prone to gossip, never cared if they were loud about it. They likely knew Mu Qing wouldn’t pick a fight with them at a party like this so they didn’t conceal their volume all that much.
Mu Qing did his upmost to ignore the whispers that had began to get louder he just needed to find one of his partners. With now slightly shaky hands Mu Qing leaned on the wall nursing his drink while his eyes continued to search for Pei Ming or Feng Xin. Finding Pei Ming was unlikely considering he was usually surrounded by other officials while gatherings were still going on. Feng Xin however was always less interested in socializing and always managed to stay by himself or with one of his partners during banquets.

Mu Qing likes to keep up a front of being unaffected by others opinions, which is not how he actually is. This time when things get to much his partners take notice before things get too far out of control. -

He only briefly saw the surprise on Feng Xin’s face before he ended up in some form of dark room. Mu Qing raised his hand allowing a small ball of fire to emerge in his hand. A cave, he had been transported to a cave.

Summary
Feng Xin cared for people, that wasn’t news. Although the two fought Mu Qing was aware of the other’s inability to truly wish ill intent towards him. However he refused to allow himself any false hope that this meant that Mu Qing truly meant something to Feng Xin. After all, Mu Qing was a poor servant, and Feng Xin was the prince’s bodyguard. Feng Xin reminded him all the time.

They just didn’t let up. Mu Qing finally made a displeased noise slightly turning from his opponents to half face Feng Xin.
“Could you shut up?!” He had went to glare at the other until he noticed Feng Xin running towards him, Mu Qing was sure he couldn’t hide the shock that plastered on his face.

Summary
Mu Qing didn’t often think about the broader perspective of things. Sure there were moments after he fought with Feng Xin where sitting among the rubble of the heavenly capital, he wondered why they still fought. But those were fleeting moments that would disappears quicker than the thought had occurred. He never stopped to think about their relationship.
Mu Qing gets hurt while trying to subdue a ghost, yet when faced with the thought of death his mind can only linger on the thought of Feng Xin.

Hesitantly approaching where Mu Qing was on the ground Feng Xin slowly kneeled letting go of his side. Mu Qing’s eyes were wild, he had been let go and had his hands tangled in his hair as he pulled and screamed. He hadn’t moved from the position he was in since they brought him back. Feng Xin faltered his arm half outstretched towards Mu Qing. He swallowed hard not knowing if he should speak or not.
Aka: Mu Qing died in front of Feng Xin yet somehow he’s back as a ghost. Feng Xin can’t bear the thought of leaving his boyfriend in the mortal realm alone so he doesn’t.
