The Knave has no stake in the former Archon’s choices. Regardless of what happens, the outcome, whether it may be good or ill, will not affect her. But still… to erase a life, to destroy the very essence of a person and let another one usurp their place… It feels damning, sacrilegious even. A mockery to all that was sacrificed.
So she asks, one last time, even though she knows the answer. One final attempt, to save a soul beyond saving.
The former Archon stares back at her with eyes that have long since given up on hope.

"Wait..." Mira muttered, her eyes narrowed as she stared at the pictures.
"What is it? What did you find?" Zoey asked, peering over Mira's shoulder before she froze.
The picture was old, taken by paparazzi when Rumi was still young. It was deemed edited by the public, and people were angry at the company and paparazzi that took the picture.
But it showed Celine snarling at the camera as she shielded a nervous toddler Rumi behind her, clutching Celine's leg sleeve.
But what was evident were the claws that Celine had, along with her sharp teeth and amber eyes.
"Holy shit like mother like daughter apparently. Miyeong fucked a demon and it's Celine."
Someone choked.
Celine is a human, the Honmoon gave her the gift to mimic demons.
The little bundle in her arms is a half-demon.
There are... slight misunderstandings as Rumi grows up.
(Not that Celine ever corrects it, Rumi is just too cute!)

Rumi thinks it would be easier to just let herself sink into self-hatred, drown in the ever-deepening pool of hate that maybe she has cried herself. She needs to hide them, the lines that mark her as other, that show she isn’t to be trusted.
Zoey wants the fragments of ideas in her head to form into something coherent, for once.
Something that doesn’t make her feel broken, and different from everyone else in a way so painfully obvious.And Mira? Mira just wants to be able to be herself, without jumping at shadows of people that aren’t, were never there for her.
Together they make a jigsaw of something beautiful.

So Mira sinks further into the bed, slows down her breathing as she listens to Rumi’s soft inhales and exhales, as the weight and thickness of the blanket begins to warm her sore muscles and she finally begins to relax a little.
She likes this.
The calm sort of quietness she only ever manages to achieve, to properly feel, within the presence of the other two. The way she knows they’re both there, can feel their souls flickering over the bond between them and the Honmoon humming beyond that – how that alone makes her happy. To be around them.
A moment long, she dares to hope that this is what waits for them once the Honmoon is golden .
“We could just ask her.” The words break the silence between them – Mira raises her gaze and finds that Zoey has abandoned her phone in favour of staring at Rumi, her fingers squeezing the fabric of the blanket, as if she was trying to stop herself from running them through Rumi’s hair, instead. “I know we said we would wait, but… but what if we just asked? What if we just told her? What if she said yes, Mira?”
