Summary
Javadi was a big part of the problem, she could acknowledge that even if it made shame and guilt burn through her guts. It was an itch she couldn’t resist clawing the absolute fuck out of.
Which brought her to tonight. McKay was working late. She wouldn’t be back until the wee hours of the morning, and she asked if Javadi could stay the night at her place. And, of course, without missing a beat, Javadi agreed.
~~~
Javadi stays the night at McKay's apartment.
Summary
Santos told her that she was the prime age to "fuck around and find out", yet she couldn't fathom what the "find out" part meant.
Maybe this is what Santos meant? Having your face turn five shades darker when your mentor kneels in front of you to check on your rolled ankle?
---
Javadi rolls her ankle during her shift and ruminates while McKay checks her over.
Summary
“Come stay with me. It’s late and you shouldn’t be out.”
Lottie stared at Shauna’s thighs flexing as she crossed her legs. She blinked. It wasn’t safe to drive this late on a Saturday night. But she also wasn’t stupid.
“My mom’s not gonna be home for a bit.”
Lottie squeezed her eyes shut, “Shauna.”
---
Lottie takes Shauna home and spends the night.
Summary
Celebration shots turned into beer pong turned into too strong screwdrivers, and Lottie was comfortably sinking into the warmth of it. She was at ease, even if she couldn’t stop staring at Shauna.
Why did Lottie even care anyways, it was too late now. Years too late.
She turned and reached for Van, batting her eyelashes playfully, and curled her fingers around her wrists before pulling her into her space.
“Dance with me,” she said, furrowing her eyebrows together in a mock plea.
---
Lottie asks Van and Tai to dance with her.
Summary
Shauna would twist the rings on Lottie’s fingers. She’d hook her ankle around Lottie’s. She'd steal Lottie's drink when hers ran dry, and then she'd look at her with her big brown eyes and ask her to get another.
Were those regular everyday friend things? If Lottie saw somebody else in her place, would she think that those were regular everyday friend things?
Truth be told, she didn’t want to know the answer, even if it was all she thought about at night.
---
Lottie and Shauna smoke together at a party.
Summary
On her way out, the pen slips out of Samira’s grasp, landing on the hardwood floor with a loud clatter. “Oh fu– sorry.”
Instinctually, Emery pushes her chair back, only to be met with a direct line of sight to Samira’s ass. The perfect, round globes of her ass. Instead of squatting down, which was likely impossible in the tight skirt, she’d bent right down from the waist to pick it up.
Straightening up, she observes the pen between nimble fingers. “No damage, thankfully. Sometimes the tip snaps and the whole pen needs to be replaced,” she says over her shoulder with a serious face, half of her lower lip in between her teeth.
---
After her parents' death, Emery Walsh becomes the CEO of her family's company. Samira Mohan is her secretary. Alternate Universe.
“Oh, fine.” Natalie replied. “A little warm for fur, isn’t it?”
“It’s faux. Don’t get any ideas about red paint.”
“Hm. Okay.” Natalie nodded, then sucked in a breath. “So, you’re a lesbian, though?”
Lottie straightened and shut the fridge door, then turned back to Natalie. She had a bottle of water in her hand. “Don’t be reductive, Nat, I could be bisexual.”
“…are you bisexual?”
Lottie looked at her like she was stupid. “No, I’m a lesbian.”
Summary
“Look,” Jackie tries again as she places her stack of cones on their relevant shelf like she has a thousand times before. She tries not to think about the cobweb she totally just felt brush against her hand, or the smell of Mari in her nose, so deep it almost burns. “Mari, did you know— I mean, have you ever had your heat before?”
Probably better to cut right to the chase, right? Jackie sees Mari freeze out of the corner of her eye, and bites her bottom lip, because oh, right.
Jackie is an alpha, and she’d convinced Mari to come here alone with her, and now Jackie’s asking her about heat, and this could look—
“Like, not in a weird way,” she rushes out awkwardly, and then, clearing her throat, “Sorry, I just mean— not like that. Not like… Not like this.”
OR:
Mari's in pre-heat, and it's throwing the team off their game. Ever the altruist, Jackie pulls her aside to check in.
