There is always a point in a relationship where both parties think they know everything about one another, especially in a relationship built on long years of working together and even longer years of pining for one’s return; where memories run hot through your veins like fever, and you deceive yourself by hoping they would be there when you wake up. And yet, there comes a factor so potent, so disruptive, one that cannot be gently placed back into the neat box of known facts and explored sensations. It does not bleed resentment, yet it does twist your understanding of the other.In this case it was a quirk of Thrawn’s anatomy. Or a dysfunctional one, as it was.
