“You’re who bought me?” The woman clenched her fists so hard Vi could hear the ropes strain. It never got easier, explaining their situation.
“That’s right. And let me tell you, you cost me a pretty penny.”
OR
After Piltover is besieged by the Undercity, the two become one new city: Zaun. The Siege brings about the end of the council and the enforcers, leaving the city unrecognizable. Now, a new council has risen and Cassandra Kiramman is sentenced to death for crimes against the city until her daughter takes her place and is bought by a certain new city leader for her virginity.
But when Caitlyn meets Vi, she quickly learns that Vi only wants her help in taking down the real villain of the city, Silco. As the two work together, Caitlyn learns the truth about the Siege and discovers things about herself and her family's history that had been buried long ago.

The woman opened her mouth, but no words came. Vi noticed the parts of her features not obstructed from the mask looked softer.
Vi leaned in slightly, close, but not yet touching. “Unless you don’t want to see each other again.”
The woman’s fingers flexed gently against Vi’s, holding her stare.
“I wouldn’t dream of that,” she said softly.

Vi and Cait meet at a masquerade, never learning each other's identities. But what happens when they meet again without the masks? Familiar details making them wonder, but them both convincing themselves it can’t be true.

Vi, a transfer from a school in Zaun, joins and takes over Cait's position and leadership, resulting in a tension between the two as they both try to prove themselves.
“Who is that?” Vi asked, not turning to look at Mars, but she had a feeling she already knew the answer.
“Caitlyn Kiramman. She’s been the six and the varsity captain since her freshman year.” Mars answered. “And now you’ve got her position.”

She spoke with a knowing smile on her face, the intrigue she spoke with was now gone, having seemingly made up her own mind. She stepped closer to Vi until she was within arms reach and it took everything within Vi to keep herself as still as she physically could. Though she was unsure if she wanted to run away or step closer. So much so that she didn't even notice the impossibly smooth hand coming up to her face.
"And what a fine dog she is." Caitlyn whispered, brushing her thumb against Vi's bottom lip, tracing the cut that had just barely closed and applying enough pressure for it to open again. Vi inhaled sharply, wincing ever so slightly at the sting.

Caitlyn merely smiled, a soft scoff slipping from between her teeth.
“Oh please. You had a shitty night. It was the least I could do.”
Vi glanced up at Caitlyn through her mouthful of fries, brow furrowing.
“You’re not trying to bribe me, are you?” She asked. It was a joke, but there was a glint to her gaze that told Caitlyn she was prodding for more. Caitlyn rubbed the back of her neck nervously.
“Well, I have a ridiculous idea…” she trailed off, biting her lip. She took a bite from Vi’s tray, just to give her some time to back out.
“Fly out with me for spring break?
Vi’s eyes widened, her hand frozen halfway to her mouth.
“To your parent’s house?” She asked, finishing her bite without taking her eyes off of Caitlyn’s once.OR

“It’s you,” Caitlyn hears herself whisper as she crouches in the tall grass. The dragon chuffs, nostrils flaring with a low rumbling sound. She can see the way the muscles tense even from here a whole clearing away.
They sit there, unmoving with a sea of wild grass between them until the sound of another pair of wings whooshing high above startles them both. Caitlyn doesn’t move, heart thrumming as she waits for the moment to turn, for the dragon to remember herself and end Caitlyn once and for all. Or for her companion to land and finish the job. But instead, red wings take to the skies again, the clouds swallowing her whole.
