Violet ‘Vi’ Lanes is lead guitarist and vocalist for the world famous Vault Breaker, a metalcore band she formed in her teen years after her father, world famous guitarist Vander Lanes disowned her. After a particularly nasty divorce, she moved to New York City to get away from it all, signing to a new label, Riot Records, the first chance she got.
Caitlyn Kiramman is the lead vocalist for an up and coming rock band, 90 Caliber Net. Her mother, world renowned philanthropist Cassandra Kiramman, refused to support her dreams, and cut her off from the Kiramman fortune until Caitlyn could “come to her senses.” After a rough breakup with popstar Seraphine, all Caitlyn wanted to do was get out. When Riot Records offered the band more than they could dream of, she snapped up the opportunity, moving to New York City.
Six months settling into their new lives, fate pushes them together in a chance meeting. Sparks fly and tension builds as both rock stars find themselves in each other.

And it was only the beginning of the hurricane called Caitlyn Kiramman that wreaked havoc in her life from the moment she appeared in it.

« Okay, what do you want ? » Vi groaned, now moving herself to sit properly on her bed, hesitant on whether or not she should fetch her t-shirt on the floor, somehow not sure it would restore some of her dignity or on the contrary be proof that she was, indeed, a desperate case.
« Well I was worrying. Can't I worry for my big sister's health ? »
« I'm fine Pow. » Vi deadpanned. Or at least tried to.
« You're clearly not ! » Powder scoffed. « You missed the soccer semi-finals yesterday night so I'm not buying you're fine Vi. »
Vi groaned and let her body fall on the bed again. She turned herself on the side, and, well, maybe she did whine a little bit. « I saw her Pow. »
« Who ? Zendaya ? »
« You know very well who ! » Vi growled. « Caitlyn. »

Vi dips to her knees and lowers her eyes the way she’d been drilled by Vander and the rest. Don’t get yourself thrown into prison, Vi. It’s not worth it. They’d literally kill you and then where would all of us be?
“Speak,” the voice is calmer than she expects.
“I bring tidings of the southern passes,” Vi begins, eyes still on the floor.
The silence hangs heavy.
“I asked you to speak,” the prince says, a deceptively gentle lilt threaded through with iron; Vi can hear the soft rustle of silks, can only see the way the prince’s feet shift as if the prince is sat more upright. “I have not asked you to stop.”

“Yeah, I can see that.” And now the redhead was judgingly staring her up and down with a hint of curiosity in her words. That made Caitlyn’s mouth fall completely agape. Caitlyn was beyond offended but even worse she felt ridiculous, stupid and internally humiliated. The singer spread her arms and mockingly said, “Welcome to the Lanes” with a grin that felt anything but welcoming.

One day, Professor Talis noticed his students had turned in geniuses with their homework for his class. He discovered the phantom behind the change and invited her for a chat. And Vi met his sister.
This is a story of starting a new life, leaving the past behind. It is sad, and will hurt from time to time. This story is slightly inspired by 'Good Will Hunting'.
I will only continue writing this story if I get enough encouragement and engagement from the readers. When readers stop, I stop too, no kidding.
