Summary
An unexpected chill suddenly runs down Peter’s spine—the feeling has absolutely nothing to do with the current temperature.
He’s been glancing up every so often to make sure that Morgan hasn’t wandered too far, but it happens so fast that he isn’t even sure how it did happen. Peter jerks his head up just in time to watch the girl step onto the iced-over lake, scrambling to retrieve her ball, which must have been dropped and is now rolling away.
“Morgan!” he shouts, but she’s already well on her way toward the middle of the lake.
The sharp sound of splintering ice fills the air.

“I’m—I’m okay,” Peter promises. He opens his mouth again to say something else, but is interrupted by a series of harsh coughs. He brings his elbow up to cover his mouth as he curls over on himself, each spasm sending more daggers through the middle of his chest. There’s something metallic-tasting on his tongue, his arm coming away with a new small stain of…blood?
Peter frowns. He meets Happy’s gaze through the rearview mirror, and they both see the blood on his lips at the same time.

Summary
Pain AU where Connor (and other androids, but focus on Connor) is able to feel pain.
After a peaceful revolution Connor works hard as an adored and admired member of the DPD. Hank has basically adopted Connor and everything is going great for the young and kind spirited, skilled deviant. Detective Gavin Reed however is more android hostile than ever and is especially fed up with how people keep worshipping the Tin Can, Connor. When Reed discovers Connor’s heightened ability to feel pain due to deviancy, he finds a way to use it as an advantage in a twisted plan to convince his coworkers that androids are nothing more than useless equipment pieces, that are no match or equal to humans. His plan of course doesn’t succeed, on the contrary, and Reed will have to face the consequences of his actions sooner or later.

This is just one giant excuse to write some hardcore ConnorWhump followed with heavy comfort feels from all people around him (except Gavin Reed). And I mean WHUMP, because I apparently live to hurt and make that poor boy suffer as much as I can in as many ways as I can imagine. BUT I also shower him with lots of comfort and feel good moments afterwards.(NOW WITH ADDED FANART)
