Summary
Sometimes, when Peter Parker closes his eyes, he sees a burnt orange sky and a planet buried beneath mounds of debris. When he opens them, it's to a world he doesn't recognize. The screens on Time Square advertise sequels to movies he'd missed. Strangers live in his apartment. There are all new teachers at his school. Even Tony is different; the wrinkles around his eyes are deeper, the shadows behind them darker.
Time moved, and Peter stood still.

Maybe there would’ve been a time that Peter would’ve internally cringed at that comparison— not out of embarrassment on Mr Stark’s behalf, of course, but on his own. On Earth, everyone knew Tony Stark. He was Iron Man. A billionaire. A genius.
And Peter . . . was just Peter. Spider-Man aside, Peter was nothing in comparison to Mr Stark. But Nebula didn’t know that. She didn’t know that Mr Stark was one of the most famous people in the world, or that Peter was just a kid from Queens. She just saw two people and made a mistake.
