Nobody knows what happened between them (though the press have their theories). As the investigation into the botched op goes deeper, Harry and Hermione have to reconcile with their own demons to uncover the truth.

The body of the red-haired woman collapsed when Lord Voldemort’s killing curse hit her, but she had been a smart witch. Her last moments were dedicated to her little son and the ritual she had used upon them, a mother’s protection to keep the soul safe from those who would want to harm them.
What she hadn’t known was that young Harry wasn’t the only one influenced by that ritual, she herself was affected too. And when her body hit the ground her soul was already gone, but not obliterated. As a free spirit she was flying around in her son’s room, watching the scene unfold and trying to block the killing curse aimed at Harry. If it worked or if it had been her protection she would never know, but her son lived and the Dark Lord didn’t.
Two souls found another body this night, the first one was the lousy attempt of a Horcrux by the self-proclaimed Lord Voldemort, hanging onto her son’s soul, but the second one, a whole soul, found itself pulled into the only other living creature in the Potter family home.

Ron nunca ha tenido sentimientos románticos por Hermione, siempre han sido amigos. Lo que si hubo fue una imagen de ellos dos alejándose de él y diciendo que no eran más amigos.

This is my best estimation of a gradually more mature story. Elaboration on magic, relationships, other cultures and traditions and, of course, the fallout from Harry Potter - the Boy-Who-Won, Tri-Wizard Champion, seeker and heir to a great house - getting to know a girl from a very different world to any he has encountered before.Update 22/01/25
