Summary
Jin Guangyao lifts his head and smiles. "I'm considering a problem."
"Can I be of any assistance with it?"
He drops a kiss on Lan Xichen's chest. With the nail of one finger he lightly traces the characters for irony on Lan Xichen's side. "Not this one, er-ge."

Summary
Since he was a child, since Lan Wangji had first become aware of his own alienating effect on others, he has long resigned himself to a loveless marriage. Perhaps even a companionate one, so long as his partner was agreeable and unbothersome and let him have his own space.
He could not have even begun to predict Wei Wuxian.

Summary
The dust of this mortal world cannot fall upon him—he is a strand-dancer, a weaver of time’s tapestry, dispatched by Gusu Lan’s Symphony to climb upwards into the knots and gnarls of alternate timelines and coax them towards the future in which Gusu reigns, benevolent and peaceful and supreme—the future in which Lan Wangji himself is sung into existence.
He is here to change the past and deliver the future into being. It would not be wrong to call him fate.

Summary
Wei Wuxian drops his hand, leans one shoulder into the stunted door frame. “Oh. Okay. So. Why are you here, exactly?”
“The Institute sent me to assist you,” the ridiculously beautiful cardigan owner says, “as your familiar.”
Wei Wuxian laughs as if it’s a joke, although the man’s stony expression makes it clear that any humor gleaned from him is likely unintentional.
“Well, uh, I appreciate your,” Wei Wuxian says, “you know, time, but everything is under control here, actually.”
With impeccable timing, a tea-kettle sound keens from the kitchen, followed by a contained bang.

Summary
The hunt had been for a few stray imps - barely the work of a couple of hours, quick and easy, in and out. It's not quick and easy. Turns out, it's not imps either.
Or; Noctis is just trying to find a way to salvage his kingdom. He hadn't planned on adopting a half-traumatized war survivor living out of a dumpster.

Summary
In hindsight, Martin probably should have turned it down, but when faced with Elias Bouchard's polite smile and an offer that would put his financial struggles behind him for good, accepting the promotion to Head Archivist of the Magnus Institute just seemed like a good idea at the time. Even if it put him at odds with Gertrude Robinson's former assistant.
The good news is that there are far worse things to contend with than a disgruntled Jonathan Sims.
The bad news is that he's going to have to.
