Summary
The thing about Seungmin is that he has always measured himself by what’s right and what’s wrong. Without that moral compass, he wouldn’t know who he is—would drift, anchorless, like he did after baseball ended, when what was supposed to be his future suddenly dissolved into a question he couldn’t answer. He clings tightly to rules he can enforce on himself: work hard, keep promises, never ask for more than you’re given. He keeps his relationships tidy, his image immaculate, his boundaries precisely drawn. He doesn’t indulge what he can’t justify, doesn’t touch what he can’t carry.
But there is one thing he can never categorize, never comfortably fit into any rule, and that’s Minho.

For a while, they say nothing. Seungmin can’t pinpoint what he's feeling. He looks over at Minho at some point, and he isn't looking back, so Seungmin takes a moment to study him.
Somehow, he's still the same. His eyes still have that feline look to them, the slope of his nose is still sharp and defined, his hair is still a rich dark brown that frames his face in soft waves.
He's different though, too.
His baby fat is fully gone. He looks more toned, carrying a more mature presence; like a real, experienced adult. That's what he is—an adult. Twenty-nine.

There’s a long pause, before Hyunjin starts laughing so hard Minho would be concerned, if he weren’t so busy steadily getting redder and redder, vicelike grip tightening on his phone.
“So that’s why you wanted me to rig the roommate arrangements?” Hyunjin finally chokes out, punctuated by random bouts of wheezing. “You wanted to share a bed with Seungminnie?”

But just as he passed the gates, he heard the footsteps of someone running behind the house. A second later, Minho appeared, sprinting at full speed towards his own car. He seemed greatly distressed for someone not used to show any hints of fear on his face.
In his run, his eyes met with Seungmin's and time seemed to stop for a brief second. Three weeks of unspoken feelings resurfacing in their gazes. It looked like he was about to speak, but the spark of sadness in the younger's eyes prevented him.
Or, Seungmin went to Minho's house in dire need of answers after being stupid enough to try and kiss his best friend three weeks ago and only being met with silence ever since, but his plan failed when he fell upon Minho being chased by his neighbour, shotgun in hand. And when Minho told him to run, Seungmin ran by his side. At least, they were together.
