It's the same man currently trying to kill him.
or, the Eridians find a man covered in blood and Grace hasn't been able to care for something in far too long.

"You okay?" Simon softly asks.
Gosh, Ryland must have really freaked Simon out if he's willingly coming down to the beach.

Summary
After three months of Dunk and Egg traveling together manage to pass; they get recognized and dragged back to Summerhall, where Maekar, thanks to Aegon's insistence, spares Dunk's life and, instead of killing the hedge knight for, allegedly, kidnapping his son once again, Ser Duncan the Tall is made to follow the original idea the prince proposed back at the tourney.
To live at Summerhall and take Egg in as his squire.
All of that happens while Daeron is haunted by the prophetic dreams of a dragon swallowed up by wildfire.
Aerion is banished to Lys and suffers the consequences of his own actions.
Daella tries to navigate around the fact that Aegon brought home a stray hedge knight.
And Maekar sulks horridly over the events of the Ashford tourney.

Summary
The world doesn’t give you a manual on what to do when you see your best friend floating eight feet up in the air.
They don’t tell you anything about the sinking feeling in your belly, or the elephant sitting on top of your chest, or the cry that won’t break out of your throat. They don’t tell you that it doesn’t matter how much you know about fear, however many years you’ve spent treating it as an old friend; you’ll see your best friend in a trance, dying, and you’ll wonder if the human body was meant to feel this much fear all at once.
Eddie doesn’t know how to be brave, or maybe he’s just forgotten, but it’s little difference. Eddie doesn’t know how any of this works. Eddie can’t make something out of nothing– but maybe this isn’t nothing.
