Jaekwan feels responsible for those smaller than him, those weaker than him, those kinder than him, those less capable than him. South Korea could create another sovereign nation with the number of people that Jaekwan feels responsible for. They could populate Mars with the number of people that Jaekwan feels responsible for. They could create another Milky Way with the number of people that Jaekwan feels responsible for. "What else is new?"
In which Agent Choi expertly navigates his relationships with his new coworker, his job, his perennial traumas, Agent Bronze, and the gruesome reality of the paranormal, not necessarily in that order.

That red, red mouth parts. He's mouthing something, even though the sound doesn't come out. Braun. Good friend.
"That's right," says Braun. He drops his cufflinks on the table, where they bounce once, twice, and then fall obediently silent. His sleeves have been neatly rolled up, his forearms exposed, and he starts to work on his gloves: loosening them around his fingers, stripping them until they're bare. A smiling face greets Kim Soleum's vision. "Me."
Braun generously accompanies Kim Soleum through a journey of self-discovery.
