Summary
When the human mages first sealed the monsters underground, they accidentally created an all-seeing entity that watches over monster-kind. When the CORE explodes, this entity is given a conscience; and when Frisk falls down, the entity watches their journey to learn morality from them.
When the Barrier breaks, everyone is freed, including the entity— or as many monsters start calling her, “the Angel”— of the old prophecy, having mistaken Frisk for being that messiah. That entity is, in fact, you— the Reader.
And Sans has always been a skeptic when it came to the religious hopes of his people.
TL;DR - Reader is the collective force of all monsterkind’s wishes to/for an Angel from prophecy, made flesh. Sans, being a scientist, doesn’t know what to make of this.
This is my first fic posting on A03, but not the first fic I’ve ever written. Please keep that in mind, and thanks for checking my story out!

11. We are the angel from prophecy and gained physical form once the barrier broke, but have no real idea of what the prophecy is or what we are supposed to do since the barriers already broken. We are treated with reverence that we’re a little uncomfortable with and Sans doesn’t trust us.

No, you just wanted someone to touch you, needed it after a year of just you and your fingers. And, oh, that skeleton you found at the club? He most certainly knew how to do that, and then some.
But, Alas, you only planned for it to be a one time thing, a nice night to help fill that ache in your chest, for now, atleast, until it came crawling back. You didn't think you would ever see him again.
