“Hawks,” Dabi chokes out, his spine arching with the bolt of electric pleasure that shoots through him. The hero frowns.
“Keigo,” he corrects. “Please, just Keigo.”
Dabi blinks, that same fluttery pain hitting him that had earlier when he realized Hawks might not be bullshitting him. That the hero might give an actual damn, after all.
Remember, none of this matters in the long run, he reminds himself. Hawks or Keigo, he’s still got a job to do.

Dabi knows Hawks is a spy, and he makes him pay for it as often as he can.
Makes him pay, until he sees Hawks break, and realizes that he can't be the kind of villain it would take to destroy the hero.
So he leaves.
Unfortunately, Hawks pursues.

Summary

Most of what he remembers about that night are Max’s fingers cold and clammy in his, and the wild glint in Steve’s eye, the way he moved with the bat in the fog, his low whistle echoing out across the car wrecks in the moonlight, and Max’s scream.

Hawks can hear it, a hoarse breathing behind the wall he presses his back against, stifling his own mouth and nose with both hands as not to give himself away. Dark spots swim before his eyes, barely discernible in the darkness of the cave.
It’s a labyrinth. A huge, endless mess of underground passages intersecting and forming branches, sharp turns and large rooms, slopes and rises, similar like twins and imperceptibly different.
Hawks is slowly losing his mind, seeking a way out. They told him there was a way and he would find it when he was ready.

It’s sort of funny, in a way. That Nighteye’s treatment of Izuku only comes up after he’s already dead. After it’s already over and Izuku’s already moved on.
And he has, for the record. Moved on.
Honestly, he’d much prefer it if people stopped pretending like this was a big deal.

The soup is very good, and Hawks realizes absently that he doesn’t think he’s very good at cooking at all – he was likely just used to whatever shit he managed to churn out for himself. He sits next to Dabi, cautiously – he's sat next to him twice before this and each time went okay – and watches Dabi game while slurping down the hot broth. It warms him from the inside out.
Dabi doesn’t talk very much at all. He was all bravado and insults when they’d meet up for intel, but now he’s quiet and only occasionally an asshole.
Hawks is beginning to enjoy his company, and that scares him.
