    Summary

A century of pain, loss, and hatred had engulfed the entire world. Sitting across from me was a man who would only perpetuate it. Sitting next to him was a woman who would at some point leave all of us behind. Sitting next to me was a girl who would never experience unconditional love from either. I realized the next two things instantly: the Avatar wasn’t the only person who could end this war, and I needed to make sure that when my father struck me, it wasn’t in the face. Zuko SI

    Summary

The avatar gaang is not quite ready to go their separate ways in the conclusion of the events with Tagah. They are all in their mid to late twenties and have saved the world yet again. Spending quality time together has lead a certain sassy metalbender and a hot-headed leader of a nation to question what they mean to one another. What was once a very close friendship may be blooming into something more. Zuko and Toph have to grapple with new found feelings for one another and what that means for 2 of the worlds greatest heroes. It's hard to say if their responsibilities to the betterment of the world will bring them closer or tear them apart. Can these yearning disasters figure it out?
(I have not watched "The legend of Aang" so the spoilers are minimal to non-existent).

    Summary

Formerly titled “A Song of Earth and Fire”.

Zuko, the ruling Fire Lord, has spent the past thirteen years remedying a century’s worth of atrocities. After his breakup with Mai, he’s remained single — dedicating himself to overhauling his nation despite relentless opposition. However, as he approaches thirty without a Fire Lady or heir, he needs a solution before his council and court choose one for him.

Toph, future Countess of Beifong, has spent the past thirteen years building a legacy of her own. Since ending things with Satoru, she’s turned down marriage offers while running her academy and fighting to establish a metalbending police force in Republic City. At twenty-five, she faces mounting pressure from her family, society, and a parade of suitors.

So they strike a deal: a fake courtship that could solve both their problems — two old friends pretending to be in love. Unfortunately, neither Toph nor Zuko has ever been good at doing what they’re supposed to do.
