Summary
With Anakin knighted, Obi-wan has been left with a vacancy in his life. After a few months of meditating, the force leads Obi-wan to the Tournament Arena, where the Initiate Trials are being held. Listening to the force Obi-wan watches the trials where he speaks with Master Yoda as a young Kiran enters the arena for his duel. The force sang with completion, urging Obi-wan to take the boy as his next padawan. With some encouragement from Masters Yoda and Kit Fisto, Obi-wan approaches Kiran with the proposal of becoming his padawan.
Kiran Rieth was brought to the Jedi temple when he was 4 after being found by the Jedi Kit Fisto. Now at nearly 14 years old, Kiran is struggling. His time as an initiate is quickly ending, and if a Jedi doesn't choose him, he'll be sent to one of the corps or back to his home world. He struggles with making decisions and tends to overthink, causing his anxiety to spike. However, after his duel, the force decided to shine on him, and Master Obi-wan Kenobi wanted him as a Padawan. Kiran, at first, tried to deny it, believing that there were better initiates more deserving of the honor. After a day of thought and advice from Kit Fisto, Kiran agrees to join Obi-wan.

Obi-wan watched Kiran leave the room and sighed. Who encourages a kid to speak only to shoot them down before they even finish speaking? Why would Anakin do that? What hurt Obi-wan was how Kiran wasn’t even surprised or dejected; his padawan just silently left the room with tight shields. It was as if Kiran only ever expected Anakin to be rude and condescending towards him, and Obi-wan was not going to allow that.
aka, Obi-wan is tired of Anakin treating Kiran rudely, and the two argue about it.
This is a deleted scene I was going to include in CH. 16 of Beams of Light. It takes place before the crew left for Florrum.

Summary
Thirteen years before the start of The Clone Wars, Kiran Rieth was born on a small planet Riufula. Nine years before the war, a meteor hit the planet, and the Council of Chiefs asked the republic for help after Offworlders began to scavenge and tear their home apart.
Kit Fisto was sent to the planet to provide aid and assist the Ten Clans of Riufula. Upon landing on the planet, he soon discovered that they had a big secret - a young force-sensitive boy.
This short story is how Kit came to find and bring Kiran Rieth to the Jedi Order.
