Inside Laura’s head is the room she grew up in—truly a single room, with light yellow wallpaper covered in tiny fuchsia roses in lines up and down. A bedroom with two twin beds and a pile of blankets on the floor between them, hand-me-down table lamps standing short on the floor, lap desks for doing homework and eating meals. A whole childhood was spent in that room, her and her mom and Lucy, who now prefers to be called Luce. Mom doesn’t like it; “‘Loose,’” she says, “it sounds like ‘loose,’ and that isn’t a compliment.”

Summary
The train is running late, so he spends way longer than normal hunched over his phone like a misanthrope feeding into his future debilitating back pain. He ignores people on the platform and holds his bag tightly, though not as tightly as usual. It isn’t that he doesn’t care whether it gets stolen; it’s just that right now, full of nothing but his water bottle and convenience store uniform, it represents all the things he cares about least.

The long days are building up, and when he needs it most, Michizou can't sleep.

Summary
The synthetic fur was soft, though a little plasticky if she focused her attention on it too long. When it first came out of the claw machine, it smelled chemical, straight from the factory. But after a few hours of holding it, eating dessert and walking in the sun, it smelled like something completely different. Herself, maybe. Or a happier version of herself.

He also thinks about Dazai. He mostly thinks about Dazai.

“Good evening!” Melody replied cheerfully. “I received a very interesting call today, and I wanted to get your opinion on it.”
“Oh?” Kurapika asked. He reached for his wine and sipped. “Is this a work call, or a bitch session?” He would not put the wine down for anything short of a house fire, though, and he sipped his drink again as if to prove his point to some sort of invisible audience.
