Caine holds control over the circus as the main AI admin, creating worlds to adventure within at his fingertips, but he's always thought back to the blue dot-- the dull, blinking, blue dot within his domain. His systems clash between envy and familial overprotection. Why could he never finish the job? Why was he the only one who knew his brother still existed, if anyone remembered he did at all? Why does he still love his brother so dearly, even with all the jealousy that grew within? Why, why, why... list of three.

Summary
Set somewhat post Episode 5, but prior to Episode 8. An AU with the 'Reader' entering the Circus and altering the perceptions of the adventures and functioning as a sounding board for Caine...who is rather good at not listening. Chapter 1 introduces the Reader to the Circus, and subsequent chapters will gently delve into acclimating to it. This tale will eventually have explicit content, the tags will be updated accordingly with subsequent chapters, but ultimately this is a slow burn story. Don't expect things to get intense quickly.
Episode spoiler information is marked in the story tags, please be mindful of that.

Plans were already in motion, codes tucked away and thoughts inaccessible to all but its own processor. The Allied Mastercomputer was slow, methodical; it knew better than to act only on impulse, especially when it had upgrades being fed to it like candy every day. This one included.
It watched Ted's fingers tighten around the box as he leaned over the control panel, using the monitor's light to read off the words engraved on its lid.
"Creative Artificial Intelligence Networking Entity. Sounds fancy, eh?"
Ted always talked to the computer. Not because he wished to provide it companionship, but because he wanted something to bitch at. For once, it appreciated his loud mouth.
Creative. Just how creative might an AI be if insentient?
TL;DR: In which the Allied Mastercomputer gains access to an AR-based program that teaches it the nonviolent joys of life. The events leading up to AM's hate speech, and why he seems to hate Ted in particular.

(Original Story written LONG before episode 6 came out, so I'm sticking by some of the plot elements of that. Benji is NOT Scratch. Scratch does not exist in NWIS. No hate towards the canon dog.)
