Kara quietly peers through the thinning expanse of trees at the old cabin and wonders if this is a mistake. The witch is powerful, the one who saved their land when the King tried to take it for his own, but she is not known for welcoming visitors.
A single candle burns in the window, just like Sam had told her, and Kara watches with her breath held in puffed out cheeks as the cabin door opens with an obnoxious creak. A hooded figure steps outside and walks towards the nearby lake, pausing by the edge of the water as her head minutely inclines towards the trees, the witch clearly aware that she is being watched.
Kara wonders if she should step out of the trees and promise that she means the witch no harm, but she falters mid-step as the witch sheds her cloak and stands nude by the lake.
