He stops humming. “Hm? Uh… Saturday,” he replies, struggling to come to the conclusion himself until he remembers that he’s not at school today and that he was yesterday. Process of elimination.
Nayuta’s follow up question: “What’s for lunch?”
“Curry,” Denji answers, not looking up. He doesn’t bother explaining that the potatoes are about to go bad, and that just because he can stomach spoiled food doesn’t mean she can. Or that either of them should.

Asa Mitaka, living Fiend of the War Devil, Yoru- at least in one universe. In another universe, something more sinister found Asa when she was chased down an alley by a criminal. A devil in the form of an inky blob that attached itself to her body covered her skin with black, impenetrable muscle, and makes her pass out. When Asa wakes up, the inky slime is nowhere to be found and the mugger’s brains are in her mouth.
Now Asa is the living Hybrid of the Venom Devil. To be rid of it, she makes a deal- find a better host. Easy enough.At least it would be if Venom didn’t keep screaming for brains and chocolate every 5 seconds.
(AU of Venom in Chainsaw Man bc the concept of the symbiote as Asa’s devil is funny to me lol)

“We’re all just going to die in the end so what's the point?” Asa’s throat does that funny thing again— where it clogs up with something so thick and bitter that her voice starts to waver. She remembers her mother’s smile when she first wore that new school uniform, Bucky’s cheerful clucks around her classmates and Yuko at her door, a pair of ragged shoes dangling from her fingers.
When Asa speaks again, she hopes her voice doesn’t break like the cracks webbing through her heart.
“Doesn’t it make you wanna give up?”
The aquarium date is imperfectly perfect, in a messed up devil-infested way of course.
